What is tapping attachment and how does it work?
Tapping attachment is used for drilling purposes where it (tap) rotates and drills through the blind hole. It is a process of cutting a thread through a hole so that a bolt can be fitted into the hole. It can also make thread on nuts. Tapping can be applied either to the lathe by power feed or by hand.
Tapping is the process of stopping and reversing of a machine spindle. During stopping and reversing, the machine slows down if the tap isn’t cutting at the optimum speed. “Due to a self-reversing tapping attachment, there is no deceleration till the machine is not stopping, and the self-reversing attachment removes the start and stop.
